Selected commissions
Wolffmark accepts a limited number of commissions. The work begins with remarkable material already held by Wolffmark, then the table is resolved for the space where it will live.
The approach
A Wolffmark commission starts with the timber. Age, origin, grain, natural edges and scale establish what the material can become.
From there, the intended room and use determine the practical dimensions and proportions. Resin treatment, base and finish are resolved around the material rather than forcing every piece into the same design.
The result is individual furniture made for a specific space, while retaining the evidence of the tree it came from.
The process
The commission stays deliberately constrained. Wolffmark provides the design language and the material. The client helps resolve the piece for its intended space.
Choose from material currently held by Wolffmark or a limited series with remaining availability.
Set the required length, width, seating, use and practical constraints.
Confirm proportions, edge treatment, resin where relevant, base and finish.
The piece is individually built and finished in Tauranga, New Zealand.

Current commission availability
One approximately 250 mm Ancient Kauri slab yielded enough material for four individual tables. Table 01 is complete. Tables 02, 03 and 04 are available to commission.
Series I commissions begin from NZ$11,900. Each remaining table will follow its allocated section of Kauri and can be resolved for the client's space.
Commissioning a Wolffmark piece
Wolffmark accepts a limited number of commissions using selected timber held by the workshop.
Start with the timber, the intended space and the approximate dimensions.
We agree the principal design details, including dimensions, timber, resin treatment where applicable, base, finish, price and expected timing.
Unless agreed otherwise in writing, a 50% deposit confirms the commission and allows work to begin.
The piece is made around the individual timber. Natural grain, edges, colour and existing character remain part of the finished work.
The remaining balance is due before delivery or collection unless agreed otherwise in writing.
Final price depends on the material, dimensions, construction, finish and delivery requirements.
Unless otherwise agreed in writing, a 50% deposit is required to confirm a commission and begin work. The remaining balance is due before delivery or collection.
If a customer asks to cancel a commission after work has begun, Wolffmark assesses the stage of the work and the reasonable losses and costs already incurred or committed. Wolffmark may retain from amounts already paid, or recover, those reasonable costs and losses — including specially allocated materials, third-party costs and work already completed. Any balance not reasonably required to cover those amounts is returned. The deposit is not automatically forfeited.
Natural timber cannot be made identical to a rendering, sample, photograph or another piece. Grain, edges, marks, colour and other natural characteristics of the allocated material will influence the finished result.
Changes requested after work has begun may affect the price and completion timing. Wolffmark will discuss any material change before proceeding with additional work where reasonably practical.
The full Terms of Sale apply to every commission, alongside the Warranty & Care terms and rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993.
Begin a commission
Send the approximate dimensions of the space, intended table size and the material you are interested in. Wolffmark can then establish whether the available timber is suitable before any design work begins.
