Choose Redwood for the right scale, grain, stability and natural edge.
The piece
This table begins with redwood sourced from the forests of Rotorua. Grown in the volcanic soils of the central North Island, the timber brings a warm colour, long linear grain and the scale needed for substantial furniture.
The broad top retains the shifting natural edge of the timber. Below it, a solid timber trestle expresses how the table carries its weight. Each joint is part of the architecture rather than something concealed.
The design is deliberately calm. Proportion, joinery and a German made Osmo oil finish give the timber room to remain the defining presence. New Zealand made stainless steel fixings complete the construction.
