Ancient swamp Kauri
The tree grew long before recorded history. After falling, it was sealed beneath swamp and peat for approximately 40,000 years. Recovered from the earth, its mineral colour and ancient grain can never be repeated.
Tauranga, New Zealand
Wolffmark turns rare New Zealand timber into heirloom furniture, preserving the age, grain and origin of every piece.
History held in timber
These are not anonymous boards. Their origin, age and character are the reason each Wolffmark piece exists.
The tree grew long before recorded history. After falling, it was sealed beneath swamp and peat for approximately 40,000 years. Recovered from the earth, its mineral colour and ancient grain can never be repeated.
Grown in the forests and volcanic soils of Rotorua, this redwood carries warmth, long grain and the scale needed for substantial furniture. Its history is younger than the Kauri, but unmistakably of this place.
The catalogue
Two singular tables are currently available. Each design protects the timber's particular record rather than designing it away.

Made in Tauranga
Selection, design, construction and finishing are treated as one continuous process. Natural edges, old grain and the evidence of time are kept where they belong.
Resin, steel and joinery support the timber. They do not compete with it. The result is furniture with a clear origin and a life still ahead of it.
